Why Misfit exists

In 2010, I lost over 7 stone. I did it without loving the gym, without fitting into fitness culture, and without feeling like I belonged in that world.

Most gyms felt intimidating. Most personal trainers didn't get me. And the industry itself seemed built for people who were already fit, not people like me who were just trying to figure it out.

So in 2015, I became a PT. And in 2022, I built Misfit, the gym I wish had existed back then.

We exist for people who've been put off by the fitness industry. People who want expert guidance without the ego. People who want to build strength and confidence in a space that actually feels welcoming.

Do I need to be fit before I start?

Not at all. Most of our members start with little to no fitness background. We meet you where you are and build from there.

Is Misfit suitable for beginners?

Absolutely. We specialise in working with people who are new to training or returning after time away. Everything is coached, scalable, and designed to build your confidence.

What's the difference between your group PT and regular gym classes?

Our groups are deliberately small, a maximum of 12 people per session and typically 4-6 for PT, so you receive individual coaching and programmes tailored to you, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Will I get individual attention in a group setting?

Yes. Small group sizes mean our coaches can watch your technique, adjust your programme, and give you the support you need.

What if I'm nervous or don't feel confident?

That's exactly who we built Misfit for. We create an environment where you can ask questions, take things at your own pace, and feel genuinely supported.
